Our 2025 Summer Flagship Program was a remarkable success. In collaboration with FED, Den Planet organized a one-week workshop from August 18–22, bringing together 73 participants, including 37 girls, 28 boys, and 8 mentors from the church community and the Simbock-Mendong youth network.
The goal was clear: To equip young people with vocational skills, mental resilience, and psychological strength through targeted knowledge, training, and mentorship, in line with Den Planet’s mission to champion environmental protection, climate action, and community empowerment.
What the Workshop Covered
Participants engaged in a rich curriculum that addressed both environmental and social development needs:
Green entrepreneurship
Climate change prevention strategies
Environmental stewardship and sustainability practices
Social issues, including:
Handling rape and harassment
Preventing unplanned pregnancies and STIs
Peacebuilding and conflict prevention
Career development and growth, tackling the growing concern of youths pursuing courses with limited guidance or direction
Expert-led sessions created a safe and interactive space for individual and group discussions, enabling facilitators to better understand the participants’ personal challenges, aspirations, and needs. This strengthened the program’s impact and deepened its relevance.
