Den Planet engages an array of interventions all aimed at keeping the environment in check. We continuously look for new ways to impact our communities. Below are our intervention areas as would help you understand our focus.
Interventions
Environmental Education
Our environment is constantly at risk. We at Den Planet dedicate full resources in educating communities; formally and informally on environment protection without which we would have fierce battles to fight. Our trainings are coordinated to target schools, socio-economic groups and communities, which have noticed changes in food production, water scarcity, and weather changes among others. We fully engage schools as a means to harness proper understanding of our environment needs and the solutions thereof.
Water and Sanitation (WASH)
Water is everything, as we know, fuelling every sector; agriculture, factory, industry and energy. Water pollution continues to intensify with growing population. Den Planet strategizes with communities for durable and lasting supply of fresh water. We cannot overlook the support of our partners and sponsors in our work on environmental health. Our trainings target communities with poor sewage management. Our WASH projects are directed at solving community health and food needs. We strive for sustainability.
Clean Energy
Global warming is constantly posing negative effects on our environment and climate. The need for energy increases as population increases. Den Planet harnesses the efforts of energy stakeholders, companies and homes to chart better ways of generating energy without endangering the environment and the planet. Our work with solar distribution networks is of key note and worthy of commendation. We continuously research and promote new and efficient ways of generating energy that does not endanger the environment.
Sustainable Waste Management
Households, industries, communities produce large scales of waste on a daily basis as a result of the need to meet increased demand from the ever increasing population. Den Planet engages local councils and waste management agencies to seek collective solutions to this problem. Sensitization campaigns and education in schools, communities, social and mass media propagate the benefits of reduce, reuse, recycle and proper waste disposal. We organize clean-up campaigns on streets and rivers in various communities.
Sustainable Farming
About 65% of the rural population of Cameroon and Sub-Saharan Africa indulges in farming, but lacks the knowledge on improving yields while protecting the environment. Den Planet develops trainings on innovative farming techniques that require little effort, while improving yields. We promote the use of organic over inorganic fertilizers to reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, thereby keeping the environment in check. We seek to restore and generate ecosystems that build the food chain by promoting agroforestry, afforestation and re-afforestation.
Environmental Consultancy
More than just engage in mass initiatives aimed at protecting and improving our environment, Den Planet offers consultation services to individuals, businesses, community farming groups, institutions, organizations, and government agencies on environment-related issues and concerns like renewable energy options, waste management, pollution, tree planting and gardening to name a few. We develop and deliver state-of-the-art trainings that impact the environment positively. Our network of consultants is quite equipped.
