In a bid to mainstream gender in all activities of the organization, we seize the opportunity to join the internatiolnal community in activism.
Since climate change induced disaster contributes to violence against women and girls, Den Planet seized the opportunity to sensitize eco-club members of KAD-NDAP Bilingual Secondary School Simbock during the 16 days activism campaign against gender-based violence.
Objectives
- For students to grasp an understanding about 16 days activism against gender based violence.
- To ensure that students understand the relationship between climate change and violence on women and girls.
- For students to understand their responsibilities in mitigating climate change and violence against women and girls.
- For the male students to learn to protect and care for the female gender.
Activity highlights
Students were sensitized on the theme « UNITE ! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls ». They were called upon to take action and stop violence against women and girls in the school environment, their homes and communities.
