This club was created and established by Den planet in September 2022, in some selected primary and secondary schools in the city of Yaounde. A total of over 178 students and pupils are actively involved in the club activities. Club activities are implemented at least once a month in each of these schools.
Objectives:
For students to understand their responsibilities towards environmental conservation.
For most youths if not all to be involved in climate action.
- With the dense population in urban and sub-Urban Yaounde, there are issues of waste management, deforestation, biodiversity loss. There is need for the whole community to adhere to environmentally friendly practices. This project involves students in advocacy and green actions, (where the members could educate and sensitize to cause a social change within and beyond the Club). We run inter-school competitions for the clubs and workshops to identity innovations within the students.
- We appreciate the collaboration of the school administrations and staff and we love to see the enthusiasm within the students as they learn and discover things that directly concern them.
